D-Day 80 - Act of Remembrance

D-Day – Act of Remembrance
To mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on 6th June, The Royal British Legion (RBL) will be hosting a D-Day Act of Remembrance in Fleet town centre.
When : Thursday 6th June, 10.50am
Where : War Memorial, Gurkha Square, Fleet Road
You are warmly invited to join the D-Day Act of Remembrance Anniversary ceremony. The event will begin with welcome and prayers. The Royal British Legion will deliver “The Exhortation”. Everyone will then be invited to observe a two-minute silence, signified by the Bugler playing “The Last post” and ““The Reveille”. Followed by a recital “The Kohima Epitaph”. The Ceremony will conclude with the laying of the commemorative D-Day wreath, final prayers and a communal singing of the National Anthem.
We look forward to coming together as a community to honour and remember those who fell on the beaches and during the following Battle of Normandy.
