Committee Administration Officer – Part Time

450 hours per year

£11.50 per hour, depending on experience


The role of Committee Administration Officer is part time and ideal for a person looking for interesting work which can work around school hours.    


Fleet Town Council is looking for a Committee Administration Officer who will prepare agendas and documents and attend approx. 30 meetings per year, take notes and produce minutes of all the meetings.  The meetings all take place Monday - Friday in the evening (starting between 6 and 7pm ).  In addition, to the meetings there will also be committee administration duties that need to be undertaken during the working week.  The working days/hours are determined by the dates of the meetings which are included in a schedule prepared months in advance.


The ideal candidate will have good communications skills, political awareness, a well organised,  professional approach to work and the ability to work to strict deadlines.   Attention to detail and good IT skills including Microsoft Office are essential.   He or she will need to demonstrate strong administration experience.  Key tasks within the role include agenda preparation, attendance at meetings to take minutes and timely production of minutes including other post committee admin tasks.  You will be working with the Executive officers and Councillors.


This is a permanent role (subject to a 6 month probationary period).

Although this is not a term time only role, there are usually no meetings during August or over the Christmas holidays.  Access to pension optional.
