Harlington Fire

We’ve had a very unexpected start to 2026. On New Year’s Eve, while the building was closed, a fire broke out above the porch of The Harlington.

We’re incredibly grateful it wasn’t worse, and we want to acknowledge four things we’re truly thankful for:

1. Our fire alarm system did its job and the fire brigade were alerted immediately.

2. Local police officers spotted the fire and acted fast — using extinguishers until the fire brigade arrived.

3. The fire brigade gained access quickly and were able to control and extinguish the fire.

4. Staff and former staff were nearby, meaning support was on site within minutes.

This could have been a very different story. We’re deeply thankful to all the emergency services.
