The Town Council is seeking to recruit a Finance and Administration Officer who will be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the office, finance & administration.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing a busy office, be experienced in all levels of finance from purchase/sales ledger, VAT returns to financial management & budgeting and be an excellent administrator.   The candidate must be accurate and have an eye for detail, be enthusiastic and self-motivated, but with the ability to work flexibly and positively with other staff, Councillors and partners.

This is a very varied role and the successful candidate will be an extremely valuable addition to our team.

This challenging post covers a wide remit and the successful candidate will ideally:

  • have a proven record in accounts and administration
  • have managed an office ensuring that all systems are in place
  • have experience of developing and managing budgets
  • be computer literate and have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office computer software.
  • have experience of payroll and accounts software packages (FTC uses Sage Payroll and Xero Software but training will be given)
  • have experience of managing a part time member of staff
  • have a strong knowledge of health and safety.
  • be extremely well organised
  • be able to work from The Harlington, Fleet, and Ancells Farm Community Centre, Fleet

 

Knowledge of local government is desirable but not essential

The salary package is between £35,000 to £42,500 pa commensurate with skills & experience. The position includes a private pension with contribution from the Council.

  • A passion for live performance is a bonus

 

Hospitality experience is not necessary but is preferred (training will be given if necessary), but you must be over 18 with an upbeat personality.

Shifts are around shows and events which are usually on Friday and Saturday nights, with the occasional Sunday event. Shifts are scheduled via an online Rota system.
