Friends of Fleet Cemetery
While Fleet Town Council is responsible for the general maintenance within the Cemetery, the owner of the exclusive rights (plot) is responsible for the maintenance of the memorial on the plot and to keep the plot tidy, ensuring that flowers or ornaments do not interfere with any other grave space or interfere with our grounds maintenance. Unfortunately some of the graves are sadly neglected as the families move away or are unable to visit.
We’re looking for volunteers to help tidy up neglected graves but there may be other things you can get involved in like growing plants, adopting a war grave and helping create and maintain new areas. If you have an hour to spare each week and are interested in helping out, please contact our Cemetery Clerk on the contact form below.

Who to Contact
For burials please contact your chosen funeral director; for headstones contact your stonemason and for any Ashes or Memorials in the Garden of Remembrance please contact our Cemetery Clerk on the details below.

Memorial Testing
Fleet Town Council is required by law to carry out safety inspections on memorials every 5 years to ensure that they are in a good and stable condition. The Council reserves the right to make safe any memorial (usually by laying it down) which represents an immediate danger to the public without further reference to the owner(s) of the Memorial in order to protect the safety of visitors to the Cemetery.
