How to avoid your rubbish being illegally collected and dumped
🛠️ Doing DIY or Renovating Your Home in Fleet? 🏡
If you’ve got a home project on the go — whether it’s a bit of DIY or a full house renovation — chances are you’ll need to dispose of rubbish properly. That might mean hiring a skip or using a private waste collector.
But please beware of rogue waste collectors.
🚫 Illegal waste dumping (fly-tipping) is a growing issue in our community — and you could be held responsible if your rubbish ends up dumped unlawfully.
✅ Protect yourself and the environment:
- Always use a registered waste carrier
- Ask to see their waste carrier license
- Keep a record or receipt of who you gave your waste to
- Be cautious of unusually cheap quotes – if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!
📹 The Environment Agency recently released a short, helpful video explaining how to avoid illegal waste dumping.
